NATIONAL MEANS — CUM — MERIT SCHOLARSHIP(NMMS) The National Means — cum- Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS) is conducted every year by Science Branch of Directorate of Education, Delhi usually in the month of November for the students studying in class VIII of Govt./Aided schools.
Candidates seeking the scholarship must have received at least 55 per cent or equivalent marks in Class 7. To be eligible for the NMMS scholarships, the candidate’s family’s income must not exceed Rs 3.5 lakh.
There are two sections in the NMMS syllabus i.e. SAT and MAT. The NMMS MAT syllabus includes reasoning questions. Whereas NMMS SAT syllabus consists social science, science, and mathematics.
Students should go to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) website, scholarships.gov.in, to apply for a scholarship. Students are required to register as new users by entering details such as their name, email address, and Date of Birdthday.
NMMS pass mark is that students will be required to obtain a minimum of 40% in aggregate in both of the papers, MAT and SAT out of NMMS exam total marks. For reserved categories (SC, ST, PH), candidates need to score at least 32% marks in aggregate of both exams.
For the NMMS Scholarship 2024, a student must finish Class 8 with a passing grade of 55% (or 50% for SC/ST). The student family’s annual income cannot exceed Rs. 3,50,000 from all sources. Students who are studying in India are the only ones who are eligible for the NMMS Scholarship 2024.
